  1. These are lovely. I especially like the composition of the middle one. I've never seen vines covered in ice but they must look spectacular.

  2. These are just gorgeous Jan. We know this weather is coming, but you have made it look so beautiful. I can feel crunch of the snow as I walk through the rows, my breath in the air. Wonderful colors. The November painting took my breath away.

  3. P.S. I liked your Christmas colors. I have been having some fun with the knife as well (as you saw, using acrylics) Not sure where I am going with that.....

  4. You have captured the cold chilly beauty of the first months of the year Jan perfectly. Once again your paintings are almost dancing with vitality and life. The colours wild in the stark landscape, powerful work. Thank you for sharing these with us and all the best for the exhibition.

  5. Theresa thank you for visiting--yes vines in the winter for me are so mesmerizing--I too like the format of the middle painting--painted 'live' from my studio during a major storm-sometimes when i look at vines going up into the distance they remind me of a stairway..

Catherine thanks once again for your encouraging words and it really does it for me to know the works evokes your kind of response!

And Caroline ditto to you--although we don't have your snow yet--actually love it right now when you can see the structure and visceral lay of the land, vines and trees--especially love the grasses right now and being able to look right down between them into the soil--my dogs like it too as the mice in the back fields are pretty exposed running from hole to hole!
