Winter skies are full of colour—or at least I see it—early pinks culminate into saturated purples at day’s end.

My Mom used to paint every day, and I now have her supplies that she can no longer use. I have deliberatly worked this with her paints and brushes—she loves a winter sky.

My mother was an artist too! I think it is lovely you are using her brushes and paints to paint a scene she would love too. It is a dark scene Jan and a little unsettling to the eye, I fear a night storm is set in. Nice to see you are still painting those fine winter scenes.

Hi Jan--Thanks for hitting the follow button on my blog--welcome! It has been a genuine treat for me to discover your paintings. I've now looked at all of them--some I just didn't want to take my eyes off of. Fantastic powerful style. Wm
ReplyDeleteI love this piece!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful piece, and made that much more meaningful knowing you used your Mother's supplies. I see these colors often as the sun sets outside my skylight in the studio. They are so stunning, sometimes I have to take a photo. It is February, but with the stronger higher sun, life is beginning all around us. Your painting shows this awakening.
