Taking flight
Please
be all right
I can’t help but worry. I’ve watched them gather materials,
build the cradle, nurture and fiercely protect their babies. Only to be sent out to
a cruel world.
On yesterday’s walk my heart broke yet again-the fields were
being plowed. The fields where my Red-wings and Bobolinks build their families.
I am hoping the fledglings were strong enough to take
flight.

And this post has a second presence, having just heard of the crash (and, it seems, the shooting down) of the Malaysian Air flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lampour which was shot down (?) over the Ukraine. So very heartbreaking that we keep killing each other and everything around us :( Take care and let's all hope that the fledglings made it out into the world before their homes were plowed under.
