I try to keep this blog ‘clean’ i.e. strictly art, but considering my art is inspired by my environment I thought I would share my outdoor studio and 3 reasons that have fostered my appreciation for the great outdoors.

I live on the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO biosphere reserve, and am privy to see, on any given day, many species of hawks and other migratory birds as well as deer, fox, coyote and of course an assortment of rabbits and mice—especially in the winter.

I love the raw look and linear quality of winter land, with the structure of trees and vines exposed and juxtaposed against the wild umber grasses—winter is the drawing –spring, summer and fall are the painting.

  1. I enjoy seeing a bit of the artist's home and "family" sometimes. Of course, nothing beats the paintings and this is another winner! What a wonderful place to live.

  2. Thank you for the "dirty" pictures! You live in a beautiful place with painting possibilities just outside the door. Some day I hope to see you and your lovely natural world.
