art-making under a full moon

It is one of life's bitterest truths that bedtime so often arrives just when things are really getting interesting.  ~Lemony Snicket

I often think that the night is more alive and more richly coloured than the day.  ~Vincent Van Gogh

There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls.

 George Carlin

‘I heard it in the wind last night
It sounded like applause
Chilly now
End of summer
No more shiny hot nights
It was just the arbutus rustling
And the bumping of the logs
And the moon swept down black water
Like an empty spotlight’
Joni Mitchell

  1. Home Run Jan! Home run.

You know I like the window screen as a backtexture. Ain't it cool?

Making me want to participate. Why should you have all the fun?

    Absolutely stunning work.

btw, that isn't screen-although looks it--it is the rough side of masonite-panelling to be precise-you'd appreciate that i know--i also want to start working with wax/plaster-next it will be cement and peanut butter taffy paper

  3. Okay, I love these!! I'm going to have to look around for the encaustic classes around here. You have made a delicious impression and I love the moonscapes! Amazing! What a beautiful surrender, Jan.
